Video installation where distorted footage of the person pronouncing a Japanese vowel is mismatched with sound recording of another vowel. Audience is offered possibility to select the vowels.

I am quite interested in contradiction, here between sound and image, that we usually tend to try and reconcile somehow that can lead to all kinds of outcome – from losing interest to comic effect to new insights.

By description of it, viewer interaction seems a bit forced here, but maybe it strengthens engagement in real life, who knows. I am normally quite in favour of letting the audience to interact more actively with the work.
