Here I am looking at the multiple layers made in different techniques and styles. The viewer has a choice to take it all in as a “splash of colour”, but can also be tempted to start considering various elements and their relationships to each other. I don’t think there is any authoritative answer as to how one is “supposed” to read it even if title may be pushing us into a particular direction. It is this quality of ambiguous complexity that I find pertinent to my work regardless of the media. However, I am planning some paintings that build on that kind of thinking (even if not necessarily this particular aesthetics).
