I take this in in relation to my Yellow Piece – a ten minutes video of a yellow wall accompanied by a list of instructions heightening attention to yellow colour around us. Connections may also be made to my “Colour Photographs” and some yellow dances.
I cannot tell for sure yet what makes it interesting. Maybe it is a nice interruption of too fragmented, too dynamic environment oversaturated with multiplicity of stimuli. Maybe it is this discreet flirt between literal and metaphorical readings – paint as kind of “immaterial” colour and very material paint. Maybe it is in the tricks colours can play on our mood. Maybe it is in the boldness of the act to paint “just this”…
