Question Mark b. (Anti-Painting, Anti-Text), 1969
Koller used question mark as a symbol of doubt, drawing it in “everyday” rather than in isolated art spaces.
This has multiple parallels to my practice. To start with, I am always in doubt, in a state of perpetual confusion. In particular, I tend to question things that are normalised and taken for granted in my environment. Thirdly, I don’t believe in a too tight separation of art and everyday.
Finally, I’ve just started exploring questions as an art form in itself.
PS. Koller’s UFO-thing is really witty… and I do think I am an alien, too…
