Hanne Lippard (b. 1984, UK)
srsly sry, 2014
Voice recording pronouncing almost words. Skeleton words, missing some vowels – or are they new words searching for meaning? Sometimes meaning is within the reach, or so it seems, and sometimes not at all.
Occasionally, my Artificial Ignorance Choir is also singing material that “could be words” – random character strings or intentionally composed combinations of letters that you won’t find in a dictionary. It seems likely that Lippard’s agenda here is more articulated than mine (although I do not know for sure) – I am experimenting first, interpreting later. But our methods are highly related, so there might be overlaps in what we are aiming for as well, even if I don’t know it yet.
