In “Loudspeakers as notes” Weibel displays active loudspeakers positioned as notes in a musical notation, emitting the tones they are symbolising. And the title reiterates the fact.

This ties in to coincidence of an artwork and its documentation that I have been exploring, inter alia, in “I Made This”. The artwork is always presenting something (itself). To what extent does its presentation differ then from what it represents? It is always bound to re-present its own making, being its product, residue and trace. And then someone brings semiotics… Some of those leads are certainly already exhausted, some are bound to be dead-ends, but somewhere along the way there may still be some productive openings…
