I did not see it coming – the most notorious tag writer from Vienna on my “pertinent artists list”. But I have to face it – my project “I Made This” is definitely informed by his motto “I like to write my name on your property”. Maybe it started as a kind of parody, ironical gesture, yet it evolved into something quite productive and insightful.

And no matter that we’ve had appropriation art around for quite some time now, the notion of property, the arbitrary social conventions that enable its protection as well as its appropriation, is still a field of palpable tension.
