Herold plays with idea of valuable painting – and what from a distance seems to be some monumental cartographic representations turns out to be caviar spread out on the canvas, with each egg carefully numbered.

Apart from appreciating the wit and surprise, I also recognise some of the elements from some of my painting projects – in one I was trying to carefully number and describe each brushstroke, in another I am painstakingly painting small dots… The resemblance is rather superficial, but there is this common element of the slow durational process employed for realisation of a conceptual idea.
